Software engineer at maktabkhooneh.org for over ten years. I’ve worked on the Django backend, search, recommendations and the move to Kubernetes. I now lead the dev team.
I organize the Tehran Python User Group (2,000+ active members) and give regular talks there on using ideas from CS research in everyday engineering work.
Outside work I enjoy sitcoms (especially Seinfeld), World War II history, discrete math and cryptography, and applications of logic in computer science.
I go by Kiyarash; Mohammad is the name on my passport.
Skills I work with most:LinearDiscriminantAnalysis work with array API inputs whose namespace and device differ, such as mixed NumPy and PyTorch/GPU arrays (merged).preprocessing.GapEncoder, a streaming version of skrub’s GapEncoder that maps messy categorical strings to latent topics one sample at a time; a worked example is in review.neg_prop × seen items and a loop bound tied to the embedding width instead of the catalogue size. Five regression tests now cover them (in review)..floret and .vec files. About 20× faster than CPU floret, and the vectors are just as good (WordSim-353 0.4740 vs 0.4738).
